Blogger Girl by Meredith SchorrBlogger Girl by Meredith Schorr is one of the best chick lit novels I’ve read in a while! When I had heard about the story line I was intrigued: main character living in NYC, working a day job while running a popular chick lit book review blog by night. Meet Kimberly Long. She’s not really our typical chick lit protagonist, being under five feet tall but with a killer body to make up for it. She works as a legal secretary in Manhattan by day and spends her evenings reading chick lit novels and writing reviews for her popular chick lit blog, “Pastel Is The New Black”. Her life is moving along just fine, although she perhaps isn’t as fulfilled as she’d like to be.

The plot doesn’t waste any time heating up – this book grabs you from the beginning. Kimberly has a crush on a man in the office. At the same time, a her childhood nemesis Hannah Marshak has written an arguably good debut chick lit novel

which Kimberly is nearly obligated to review, and her ten-year high school reunion is coming up. At the same time, there is a situation with her ‘friends with benefits’ guy and best friend.

Kimberly must deal with her new budding relationship, a new catty coworker who undermines her, and her long-standing rivalry with Hannah, among other things.

This book was very well-written and had wonderfully fleshed-out supporting characters. There was good character development and some interesting twists and turns. Best of all was the accurate insight into a chick lit blogger’s life.

Overall I highly recommend Blogger Girl to all readers – with friendship, rivalry, man drama, office politics and more, there is something for everyone!
